Tuna is a fabulous source of proteins, omega 3, healthy unsaturated fats and can be a fantastic alternative to meat for people not very keen on white fish. With the help of honey, lemon, soy sauce and spices, a plain tuna steak brings fireworks to your mouth. Enjoy!
For 4 people4 tuna steaks 1tbs cinnamon
2tbs liquid honey 2tbs sesame seeds
the juice of 1 lemon 2tbs four spices
4 tbs sesame oil 1/2tbs coriander ground
6 tbs soy sauce salt, pepper
Prepare the marinade:
In a salad bowl, stir together the soy sauce, 3tbs sesame oil, the lemon juice, the sesame seeds, the honey, the coriander, the cinnamon, the four spices and the salt & pepper. Arrange the tuna steaks in the marinade for at least 30minutes (1hour if you have enough time).
Heat a table spoon of sesame oil in a skillet over high heat until very hot.
place the steaks in the pan and sear for 30 seconds each side. remove the fillets, lower the heat and add the marinade. Let it simmer until it becomes syrupy. remove from the fire.
You can cut the fillet in slices or serve it as a steak after spooning some sauce on top.
Side dish: Quinoa or steamed asparagus (healthier option)
